Information

One calm editor for every format.

Researium is a desktop app for writing research documents, in LaTeX, Typst, or Markdown, in a single editor with live preview. It's built for researchers, graduate students, and technical writers who move between formats depending on the journal, the collaborator, or the habit, and who are tired of switching tools every time that happens.

Why one editor for three formats

Most writing tools pick a side: a LaTeX editor, a Typst editor, or a Markdown editor. Researium doesn't. The same document can be written in whichever syntax fits the moment, with the same citation manager, the same live PDF preview, and the same export pipeline (PDF, DOCX, HTML, or Sphinx) underneath.

What's actually in it

  • Citations from Zotero, BibTeX, and CSL styles, with a visual knowledge graph on the Full plan.
  • A visual editor: a readable, edit-in-place view of equations and tables, with git staging alongside it. The raw LaTeX, Typst, or Markdown is always one toggle away.
  • Real-time co-editing, with live cursors, presence, and shared AI threads for a room.
  • Built-in git, so staging, committing, and publishing never leaves the editor.
  • Metered AI: credits are reserved before a request runs and settled after, so there are no surprise charges.

Ownership

“Your files stay yours”

Every format Researium writes in is an open, portable one. Exporting to PDF, DOCX, HTML, or Sphinx means your work never depends on Researium still existing to be readable.
